PHOTO BY MIKE BILLICK If you are looking for something a little more low-key, but still very entertaining, just down the path at the French Quarter, groove to sweet jazz at Scat Cat’s Club. Here you’re surrounded by music memorabilia while you grab an appetizer and cocktail and listen to live music on select evenings. VARIETY IS THE SPICE OF LIFE There is so much to do at Disney’s Port Orleans, you don’t need to leave the resorts to enjoy yourself. Both resorts have unique pool areas. French Quarter has Doubloon Lagoon with a water slide disguised as a Mardi-Gras themed giant sea serpent and Riverside has Ol’ Man Island complete with wooden bridges and a rural waterslide built into an “abandoned sawmill.” There are five leisure pools at Riverside for those who like a little more peace and quiet. Normally Disney frowns on pool hopping at the resorts, but when you stay at Port Orleans, you have access to the pools at Riverside and French Quarter! It’s like two for the price of one!
