Half of the rooms in this section have been refurbished into Royal Guest Rooms, following the release of Disney’s film, The Princess and the Frog. These storybook-come-to-life accommodations can be found in two buildings: Oak Manor and Parterre Place. Adorned with “royal” touches throughout, these uniquely themed rooms feature two queen beds with headboards that use fiber optic special effects, luxurious bedspreads and drapes fit for a king (or queen), artwork featuring Princess Tiana, and various nods to other Disney animated films. For example, the sink faucets are shaped like the Genie’s lamp from Aladdin. There is a premium price to stay in one of these Royal Guest Rooms, but if you have a Princess in your family, you just may want to splurge. Dining & Shopping One of the benefits of staying at a moderate resort versus a value at Walt Disney World are the dining options available without venturing too far. At Port Orleans – Riverside you’ll find casual sit down dining, a Quick Service food court, two lounges, and pizza delivery. Boatright’s Dining Hall is the sit down Table Service restaurant on property, which offers a large menu featuring southern inspired entrees, as well as American dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Disney Dining Plan (DDP) is accepted here. The River Mill Food Court for Quick Service dining features six ordering stations including a bakery, a grill, a pizza & pasta, sandwiches, salads, and a carving station. Grab and go items such as fruits, vegetables, and various snacks are also available. Here is where you can refill those Rapid Refill mugs as well.
