WDW Magazine April 2016 - Disney's Hollywood Studios | Page 54

To Splurge: Disney’s Hollywood Studios is definitely amping up its bad guy quota these days, and Club Villain is icing on the cake. On select nights, guests 21 and over (there is a lot of alcohol at the event!) can dance and mingle with Cruella de Ville, Queen of Hearts, Evil Queen, and even Maleficent for the two and a half hour party. Specialty cocktails (along with wine and beer) are served to guests as well as beef striploin, shrimp, and wings. There are also opportunities for meet and greets, autographs—all while a house DJ spins favorite tunes. Club Villain is far less crowded than Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party so you’ll definitely have better chances for photo-ops and less of a wait in line to get them. Tickets run $129 each (including tax and tip), in addition to valid theme park admission. Annual Passholders and DVC Members will now pay a discounted rate of $99 with tax and tip included. If you are making a trip to Walt Disney World with younger kids, keep in mind that you’ll need to make provisions (a babysitter or other caregiver) for them while you’re whooping it up at Club Villain. Note: Even though Club Villain is a buffet-style dining experience, you may not use a Disney Dining Plan entitlement in exchange. Tickets tend to sell out quickly and you can make reservations up to 90 days in advance. To Scrooge: Don’t want to shell out the extra cash? There are several opportunities to meet the Disney Villains in the parks. You’ll find Gaston in the New Fantasyland expansion at Magic Kingdom, Kylo Ren at Star Wars Launch Bay in DHS, and Captain Jack Sparrow (some consider him a hero, some a villain. I think he’s the perfect mixture of both!) in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom. Not a free way to meet Disney Villains but worthy of note: Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in autumn has loads of Disney Villains, both in the Mickey’s Boo To You! Halloween Parade and with meet and greet opportunities. The ticket cost is much less (although you’ll have to pay for your own food and alcohol) and the party lasts around eight hours. AND, you can take the kids! So if you’re WDW vacation is planned for the fall and cutting a rug isn’t your top priority, Scrooging is probably your best bet; but if you’re going any other time of year and you’re really looking to let loose, Splurging at Club Villain will absolutely be worth the extra cost!
