Before you get going, two Cast Members ask everyone to read and sign consent forms,
hand out safety equipment and radio earpieces, review the rules, and show a safety film on
Segways. Then, they demonstrate how to operate the vehicle before moving out to a
practice course; this offers a safe environment for guests to learn how to ride a Segway.
The practice session includes plenty of help from the Cast Members. That was important,
as I was not entirely sure I could learn to operate a Segway—grace and coordination are not
my strengths. But don’t worry, if I can learn to operate one of these in twenty minutes,
anyone can.
