World of Color uses lights and nearly 1200 fountains along with special effects like fire, fog,
bubbles, and lasers, to tell a narrative with the help of video projections on mist screens,
similar to those used in Fantasmic!
The show has evolved constantly over the years, thanks to digital technology being so
readily adaptable. In addition to special versions, seasonal encore scenes are added and
deleted as appropriate.
Typically, the show is broken down into a nostalgic opening sequence honoring Walt Disney
and the company history, followed by several composite scenes centered around a
common theme (water, space, animals, love, etc.), and concluding with an over the top
montage or past and present favorite moments in Disney movie history. Movies featured
have included Fantasia 2000, Up, Frozen, WALL-E, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Cinderella,
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Peter Pan, Tangled, Pocahontas, The Little Mermaid,
Bambi, Dumbo, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Lion King, Lady and the Tramp, Sleeping
Beauty, The Princess and the Frog, Hercules, A Bug’s Life, The Hunchback of Notre Dame,
Lilo and Stitch, and many others.
