SAYEEDA WARSI
A lawyer, a businesswoman, a campaigner and
a cabinet minister, Sayeeda Warsi has had many
portrayals, but she is best known for being the
first Muslim to serve in a British cabinet and the
foremost Muslim politician in the Western world.
She is known to be a racial justice campaigner
for many years, instrumental in the launch
of Operation Black Vote. She served in the
David Cameron’s Cabinet, first as the Minister
without portfolio between 2010 till 2012, then
as the Senior Minister of State for Foreign and
Commonwealth Office and as the Minister of State
for Faith and Communities, until her resignation.
A fierce political campaigner, who resigned from
Government citing the Government’s “morally
indefensible” policy on Gaza.
