Meet Edgerton Branch Manager Joyce Gendron
1 . Tell us a little about yourself . I grew up in Saginaw , MI . My interests are any activities with my family , working on art projects , traveling , working in the woods with my husband . Greg and I have been married for 29 years !
2 . What brought you to Williams County Public Library ? I had worked for WCPL part-time from 2011 to 2018 , then accepted the job as Director of the Waldron District Library in Michigan from 2019 to 2023 . Last summer , I applied for the open branch manager ’ s position in Edgerton . Although I miss my Waldron friends , just thinking about working for WCPL again was like coming home !

3 . What have you most enjoyed so far about being the Edgerton Branch Manager for WCPL ? There isn ’ t just one thing that I most enjoy about my role as the Edgerton Branch Manager , but several . The patrons , of course , rank right up there as a tremendous source of enjoyment for not only myself , but the staff here at the library . We love all of the visits we get from the people of this amazing community ! The ladies that work at the library here in Edgerton are top-notch – I couldn ’ t ask for a more amazing group of intelligent and talented staff members to share my day . I ’ m also appreciative of the support I ’ ve received from upper management at the main branch , and the other branch managers , as well . Dylan Wagner , Interim Director , stated recently that he ’ s extremely happy with the staff that work in all of the areas of the Williams County Public Library System . I couldn ’ t agree with him more .
4 . What is a service that WCPL offers that you wish the community were more aware of ? We offer an array of special programs for all ages and interests . Check our Facebook page , or visit our library to find all the offerings !
5 . Favorite Book ? The Mountain Between Us by Charles Martin
6 . What is something about the town of Edgerton that you enjoy ? THE PEOPLE !! All have been so welcoming of my arrival , and I look forward to getting to know them better in the upcoming months .
7 . What event are you most excited to have at the Edgerton Branch Library in the upcoming months ? Our Senior Citizen teas in the spring and at Christmas time . The previous Edgerton Branch Manager , Shanea Herman , was the inspiration of this wonderful program that brings so many of our senior citizens of the community together . They really enjoy this program . I admire Shanea ’ s innovation and creativity here , and hope to bring that into other future programming events here at the library .
