Folk’ s Gun Works, April 22nd, 6:00PM
In the late 1800s, a father / son duo in Bryan patented and manufactured breech-loading firearms. Known as Folk ' s Gun Works, it was owned by William Folk & his son Samuel. The business lasted for close to 20 years until William was accidentally killed when cleaning the sights on a handgun. His son Samuel became an inventor where he patented an oil stove for home heating, built a steam automobile, and developed a cistern pump that could be operated by an electric motor.
