2018 will be remembered as the year we won our second national championship with Aotea Empire, formed a combined schools mega crew called Zynergy, won the Dance NZ regional competition overall award for the second year and entered into the Battle in the Bay for the first time against studio crews coming 3rd.

It is also the year Pauline Hiroti finished writing her PHD for Auckland University. We will celebrate this in 2019 and are so very proud of her. She is putting Whanganui on the map in the field of Hip Hop and it can only get better. We hope to host a celebration of her graduation next year.

Because of the success of Aotea Empire in 2018, Dance will become part of the junior spin curriculum in 2019. We hope that this will grow dance even more at WCC and that boys will see it as a potential pathway as well.

We finished the year with an amazing performance at VIBE here in Whanganui. The best thing was that Pauline and Baillie Edwards were able to join in with the performance. It was fantastic.

2019 looks to be a year of even more excitement. We have national titles to defend and a trip to Japan to look forward to! Watch this space.
