Whitley Bay Cricket Club Constitution.
1. The name of the Club shall be WHITLEY BAY CRICKET CLUB.
2. The purposes of the Club are to promote and provide facilities for the amateur sport of
Cricket in the Whitley Bay and North Tyneside area and community participation in the same
3. The objects of the club shall be:
a. To promote and stimulate interest in the game of Cricket as played under as under
Marylebone Cricket Club Rules.
b. To provide one or more cricket teams to fulfil fixture obligations and to encourage
and coach young players.
c. To provide social amenities and to supply refreshments for its members.

a. The Annual General Meeting of the Club shall be held no later than 1st April of each
year.
b. At General Meetings, fifteen members shall form a quorum.
c. Members shall be given at least 10 days notice of a General Meeting.
5. The President of the Club and Honorary Life Members shall be elected at the Annual General
Meeting.

a. The club shall be governed by a General Committee consisting of a Chairman,
Honorary Secretary, Honorary Treasurer, team captains (The Officers of the Club),
League Representative, Club Welfare Officer and up to a maximum of six other
members of the Club, with power to co opt, such a Committee to be elected at the
Annual General Meeting and to hold office until the next Annual General Meeting.
b. Five members shall form quorum at any committee meeting.
c. The General Committee shall have the power to appoint sub committees.
d. The General Committee shall have the power to appoint Honorary Members.

The Selection Committee shall comprise the Team Captains, or in their absence the Vice
Captains, and three members elected at the Annual General Meeting. The selection
committee shall elect one of the three elected members as Chairman to hold office
throughout the season.
8. Vacancies on the General Committee or Selection Committee occurring during the year shall
be filled by the General Committee. Members elected to such vacancies shall hold office
until the next Annual General Meeting.
9. Membership of the Club shall be open to anyone interested in the sport on application
regardless of sex, age, disability, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, religion or other
beliefs. However, limitation of membership according to available facilities is allowable on a
non discriminatory basis.
10. The Club may have different classes of membership and subscription on a non discriminatory
and fair basis. The Club will keep subscriptions at levels that will not pose a significant
obstacle to people participating.
