It also served as away for me to save my recipes and an easy way to give them out . I started this around the time I was in graduate school . Now it has become a destination for attainable recipes and family meal and entertaining ideas , along with some encouraging words for home cooks who may need it .”

It was a crash course in the entertainment industry , and I can ’ t watch reality television the same way anymore . It was fun to experience it with my family . We were all able to take a memorable family trip to Italy . However , it is challenging to balance your everyday life and what is being chosen , essentially by other people , to be

I was dismissing it , but he said Ishould go for it . He filmed me prepping our family dinner that night . So on a last-minute whim , I showcased my family ’ s recipe for meatballs and sent it in without much of a thought .
“ By September , I had received a call from the producers stating that Iwas in the finals , and needed to �y out tothe Home ��amily set in California to participate in an on-air segment . I was absolutely shocked and very excited .
“ �art of the competition was cooking on the show one time . Then they asked each finalist ( five total , including me ) to come back for two additional tapings to determine the winner .
“ Once we got to the Home � �amily lot , we were thrown into two days of competition . This was something that materiali�ed on the spot . It was not something I knew about going into it . We ultimately ended up competing live in real-time in a Chopped-style event . �or someone who is truly a home cook , this was a huge challenge for me . I panicked when this was first laid out , and even considered bowing out . However , Iput my head down , put some �ean Martin onmyi�od , and cooked my heart out . I just kept telling myself I was cooking for my family . Iwas shocked when Iwon� you can definitely see it on screen . Being able to successfully make it through this high-pressure situation really increased the confidence I had in my skills and ability . �urthermore , the people I met and the experiences I had proved to be invaluable to the trajectory of my career .
