n our May 2012 issue, we
featured dancer and
choreographer Nicole
Guidetti Serapiglia. The long-
time Wayne resident, then 31
and a newlywed, told us about
her lifelong love of movement, from
her first dance recital at age 3 to her
backup dancing for musical perform-
ers such as Beyonce, Gwen Stefani
and Pharrell Williams. She appeared
in TV shows including 30 Rock and
Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, the
films Friends with Benefits and The
Smurfs, and in commercials for
American Eagle Outfitters and Target.
Serapiglia also helped choreograph
scenes in Flight of the Conchords and

performance.
Over the past eight years, Serapiglia
has been equally busy. Besides having
three children with husband, Nick,
she transitioned from dancing on
Saturday Night Live to being an assis-
tant choreographer for the show, as
well as for Lip Sync Battle. “Now I’m
choreographing for up-and-coming
artists, more for the music industry,”
she says. “I’m moving up to the next
level.” One thing that hasn’t changed:
She still lives in her beloved home-
town of Wayne. Find her on Facebook
and Instagram @Nicole_serapiglia. ■
