SHINE ON
(Left) The eat-in part of the kitchen, which
spans the entire back of the house, is illumi-
nated by a chandelier comprised of glass balls.
Its oval shape contrasts with the rectangular
table, which seats 10 comfortably. The backs
of the chairs have fabric inlay inverted into
the frames, and are upholstered in washable
vinyl. The table has a nickel frame; a glass
sheet protects the wood on top. The wood-
burning stone fireplace and built-in bookshelf
add coziness and warmth, both literal and
figurative. (Below) The backdrop of the master
bedroom is a shimmery metallic wallpaper
with tiny glass crystals attached to it. The
mirrored nightstands on both sides of the bed,
whose frame is of tufted velvet, all add to
the glamorous side of the high end-low
maintenance equation. ■
