To celebrate Earth Day’s 50th anniversary, LAURELWOOD
ARBORETUM is hosting author Douglas W. Tallamy, whose
soon-to-be-released Nature’s Best Hope helps readers promote
conservation in their own backyards. Tallamy, who is a pro-
fessor in the Department of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology
at the University of Delaware, wants homeowners to turn
their yards into conservation corridors that provide wildlife
habitats, and will share tips on how to do that. Copies of the
book will be available for purchase and signing. $30 mem-
bers/$55 non-members (includes a one-year membership in
Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum). Limited seating. •

Jersey during 2020, British rock ‘n’ roll
great GRAHAM PARKER will perform at William Paterson’s
Shea Center for Performing Arts. For nearly 30 years, Parker
has been performing punk, R & B, country and soul music,
earning himself a spot in the pantheon of influential popular
music figures. His musical style has influenced the likes of
Elvis Costello and Joe Jackson, and his work with The
Rumour, his group from 1975 to 1980, has earned two spots
in Rolling Stone’s “Top 100 Albums of All Time.” Tickets
