For a night of traditional gospel, blues standards and original folk
compositions, AMY HELM AND THE HANDSOM STRANGERS will perform
Friday, April 10, at 8 p.m. at William Paterson University’s Shea Center for
the Performing Arts (300 Pompton Road, Wayne). The daughter of music
legend Levon Helm, her deep musical roots were enriched by a lifetime
of exposure to the finest expressions of American musical tradition. The
Grammy-nominated band, Yarn, will open the concert. Tickets are $55 for

Talent, ARCATTACK promises an electrifying show
Sunday, March 8, at 2 p.m. at William Paterson

part science experiment, the creators of ArcAttack
will take you behind the spectacle as one brave
stunt man displays the wonderment of such
musical machines as their Tesla Coils, and explores
concepts such as electricity, voltage and current,
magnetism, robotics and lightning in a show that’s
both entertaining and educational. Pre-show

MITCH ALBOM, recounts his time as a sports writer,

Lecturer Series. In his presentation “The Thrill of Victory,
The Agony of the Rest: The Good, Bad and Ugly of
America’s Obsession with Sports,” Albom will explore
the money, corruption and racial tensions, as well as the pride, thrills
and excitement of the games that have shaped our nation. As a sports
reporter, he has been named the #1 Sports Columnist in the Nation by
the Associated Press Sports Editors (APSE) 13 times and appears regularly on ESPN’s Sports Reporters. Most recently, he received the APSE
Red Smith Award for lifetime achievement and an induction into the
