T
here are a lot of great din-
ing spots in and around
Wayne—Viaggio, Axton’s
by Chef Anton Testino and
Black Bull Steakhouse &
Seafood, to name just a few.
But sometimes there’s nothing that hits the
spot quite like the perfect burger fresh off
the griddle, accompanied by a generous
serving of crunchy, crispy fries.
Now that the weather’s milder and we’re out and
about building healthy appetites, it’s time to review the
fun food options in our area. “Get your Burgers and
Fries Here” offers a half-dozen destinations where you
can satisfy your cravings for those all-American dishes.
And if you’re after a satisfying protein-carb hybrid, look
no further than Fri Guyz, home of the Bacon Cheese
Fries, Crab Attack Fries (with jumbo lump crab meat)
and Jersey Fries (featuring—what else—Taylor ham).
For dessert, read “Where to Get your Taylor Ham
Popcorn?” Yes, it’s not only conceivable, it’s doable:
The online and retail business International Popcorn
in Totowa sells varieties of the treat that exist beyond
the average imagination (sure, you’d expect to see
kettle and salt & vinegar varieties, but Jersey hot dog?
Guava? Spicy queso?).
If, after all the snacking, you’re in the mood for a
real sit-down meal, go to the beloved standby Cheng
Du 23; in our “Sichuan Sensation” review, we assure
you that it’s as good as ever. And happy spring to all of
you from all of us at Wayne Magazine. ■
