editor’s letter W ayne, N.J., is nearly 2,800 miles from Los Angeles, Calif., but when you consider the number of film community members the area produces, it feels a lot closer. Our May Entertainment Issue focuses on that connection. In “Jersey Boy,” we talk to the American Pie and Orange is the New Black star — and Pompton Plains-born — JASON BIGGS, who, after nearly two decades in L.A., moved back to the East Coast. Read about his memories of growing up in New Jersey, and see how many you share. You may know DANIELLE ROSE RUSSELL of Pequannock from the TV show The Originals, or her role in the movie Wonder; even so, “Meet Rising Star Danielle Rose Russell” will fill you in on a young actress you’re sure to see more of in the future. Reporter Jim Beckerman talks to Wayne’s HOLLY TAYLOR whose character, Paige Jennings, came of age on the hit FX series The Americans. And “Location, Location, Location” takes a look at the surprisingly large number of films shot at least partially in our area. Check it out, and test yourself on how many locations you recog- nize. Even our teenage Neighbors subject, MELISSA GOLDFINE of Wayne, is focused on film: She is editing a movie with her peers at FilmAcademy360, an enrichment program in Livingston. Not everyone is passionate about film, of course. Our featured homeowner happens to love tennis. In “Townhouse for a Tennis Lover,” we showcase her compact home, whose décor says a lot about her tastes. What are you passionate about? And now we have the answer: Cathy Rusyniak writes to inform us that “The picture on page 48 is Riverview Drive in Totowa…Today, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Marshalls, Staples and Home Depot would be on the right. The Totowa Animal Hospital sign can be seen on the left; that is still there today. Nice memory, thanks for the picture.” 6 MAY 2018 WAYNE MAGAZINE
