These include shots of Paterson’s historic district around the Great Falls National Park, including ones taken at Totowa, Wayne and McBride Avenues, and Birch and Market Streets. The cast was also featured in a scene filmed outside the New Jersey Community Development Corporation on Spruce Street. Clark brings some famously tough — and controversial — love to the students, who have his back after the school board tries to dismiss him. In this short film by Pompton Lakes native Steve Monarque, which was shown at the New Jersey International Film Festival, modern technology stymies recent widower Harry in his quest for a newspaper and cup of coffee. IT RUNS IN THE FAMILY 2002 FEATURING: KIRK DOUGLAS, MICHAEL DOUGLAS, CAMERON DOUGLAS CONNECTION: FILMED IN KINNELON AND PEQUANNOCK TOWNSHIP This movie really was a family affair, since three generations of Douglases are featured in it (Kirk Douglas’ ex-wife, who was Michael’s mother, also starred). The plot focuses on a successful New York City family, and the tensions between its fathers and sons. THE SUBJECT WAS ROSES 1968 FEATURING: PATRICIA NEAL, MARTIN SHEEN, JACK ALBERTSON CONNECTION: SCENES FILMED IN A HOUSE IN KINNELON In this Pulitzer Prize-winning play-turned-movie, a World War II vet returns home and sees his parents’ troubled marriage with new clarity; when he tries to resolve their problems for them, emotional chaos results.
