Newly hired William Paterson music faculty member Jeremy Pelt is recognized
as one of the most notable young trumpeters in jazz, voted Rising Star five
years in a row by Downbeat Magazine and the Jazz Journalist Association. Pelt
collaborated with some of jazz’s greatest masters and frequently performs
with ensembles like the Roy Hargrove Big Band and the Duke Ellington
Big Band. This big band concert will feature the premiere of three new
arrangements of Pelt’s compositions by William Paterson masters level
arrangers. There’s a meet-the-artist session in Shea Recital Hall 101 at 3 p.m.

grade education became

“Chocolate King.” While
expected to be a family
farmer, Milton Hershey
became an innovative entrepreneur, philanthropist and creator of a town
built on chocolate. Chocolate samples will be provided as people hear
about a savory confection of dreams, drive, struggle, failure and successful
capitalism – all in the pursuit of chocolate.
