When we see Robbie Felice , one of
the most talented chefs in North Jersey , it ’ s usually inhis chef ’ s coat and jeans at one of his two award-winning authentic Italian restaurants : Viaggio in Wayne and Osteria Crescendo in Westwood .
Nevertheless , despite his usual chef ’ s attire , it is obvious that Felice has astyle of his own . That style is not just apparent in the bold flavors and design beauty on his plates .
Felice , who is 30 years old , was nominated for aJames Beard Foundation award this year — they ’ re said to be the Oscars of the restaurant industry — but because ofthe coronavirus pandemic the prestigious awards were cancelled .
As for fashion awards ? Cooking is what Felice loves to do ; fashion isahobby that he believes he ’ s finally taken possession of .
We talked to Felice about his personal style . Here ’ s what he had to say .
DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL STYLE . Fresh pair of sneakers , watch , long shirts , tight pants . I lived in Europe for a while and really started loving their style . Iguess you can say my personal style is somewhat European .
YOU ’ RE ALMOST ALWAYS IN YOUR CHEF ’ S WHITES . WHAT DO YOU WEAR WHEN YOU ’ RE NOT WORKING ?
Fresh pair of sneakers , watch , long shirts , tight pants .
YOU WORK OUT ALOT . WHAT DO YOU WEAR FOR THAT ? When I work out , anything that ’ s comfortable
works for me . But I love rocking a long sleeveless shirt . Socks ? Always black ankle socks . Favorite sneaker ? That ’ s almost as hard of a question as what ’ s your favorite food to cook or eat . Really depends on the day of the week . One day you may catch me in Vans , but the next in Nike or Adidas .
