There’s a chill in the air, the days are getting shorter, and fall will soon turn into
winter. It’s also the time of year when families in the Wayne area are looking for things
to do both indoors and out. Here, we provide you with some of the many local options.

oes hiking pique your fancy? Is your dream day a long walk outdoors to see nature up
close and personal? If so, Mountainside Park is a key destination for you. Children and
adults can experience a six-mile network of trails that accommodates loop hikes and
camping. A bonus of the 320-acre park is that it provides panoramic views of Northern New

lenging your inner Wayne Gretzky? The Ice
Vault Arena is the place for most activi-
ties on ice.
The two-acre facility holds two rinks that
offer public skating, an ice hockey league for
various ages and skills, and a party room for
birthdays and other occasions that includes
some time on the ice. Prices are $10 for chil-
dren and $12 for adults for skating, and $16
for hockey activities. Various prices for party
packages can be found on the arena’s website.
