GRAINS OF HOPE
▲
Chilton Medical Center recently
had 138 volunteers participate
in the “Grains of Hope” event at
Pequannock Valley Middle School.
Together, they helped pack
175,000 meals for the hungry during
the event! Fifty percent of the meals
will be distributed to New Jersey
food banks and the other half will
benefit Haiti.
Grains of Hope is a local grass-
roots not-for-profit organization
(Community Partners for Hope of NJ,
Inc.) centered in Pequannock that
enable friends and neighbors to feed
the hungry.
“As a hospital fully entrenched
in the community, our Chilton team
members understand that serving
those within the hospital is just as
important as supporting those within
our neighborhoods. Participating in
the Grains of Hope year after year
has been a fulfilling and humbling
experience for our team members
and their families. Our participation
has grown exponentially because
our staff have seen the impactful
work being done and they want to
give back to those in need,” said
Stephanie Schwartz, president,
Chilton Medical Center. “Food inse-
curity affects millions worldwide, so
if we can do our part to provide aid,
then we’ve made a difference.”
CHILTON MEDICAL CENTER DONATES AUTOMATIC EXTERNAL
DEFIBRILLATOR (AED) TO LOCAL TENNIS CLUB
Recently a member of the Wayne Racquet Club read about a donation of an automatic external defibril-
lator (AED) in a magazine. The donation was made through Atlantic Sports Cardiology’s Project Hearbeat
program, which provides towns and local community groups with AEDs. After reading about the benefits
of having a lifesaving defibrillator onsite, she reached out and Chilton was pleased to donate an AED to
the Wayne Racquet Club. In turn, the Club presented Chilton Medical Center with a $1,300 donation.
Thank you to the Wayne Racquet Club for helping us build healthier communities!
