Hospitals can be a little overwhelming for everyone —
especially for kids, who may not be equipped to deal with
the unfamiliar sights, sounds and surroundings of a hospital
environment. That’s why Atlantic Health System has intro-
duced the new Children’s Center at Chilton Medical Center,
which offers specialized pediatric care to nearly 13,000
children annually.
Located within the hospital, the new Children’s Center
combines both pediatric emergency services and inpatient
hospital care in one, family-friendly facility. Chilton Medical
Center’s pediatric physicians and nurses can handle all types
of childhood emergencies and illnesses, from minor injuries
to more serious medical conditions that require an overnight
stay. And, because it’s part of Atlantic Health System,
Chilton Medical Center is connected to all the resources and
advanced care, including access to more than 100 pediatric
specialists, at Goryeb Children’s Hospital at Morristown
Medical Center.
The Children’s Center is truly a unique place for children
to get well. It features a dedicated entrance, including a
family and patient lounge, playroom and 11 state-of-the-art
private rooms, equipped with comfortable, homelike furnish-
ings. Additionally, it provides special touches to foster healing
and reduce children’s anxiety, including built-in sleeping
accommodations for parents, skylights and gaming systems.
And because Chilton’s team of expertly-trained physicians
and nurses are all located within the center and solely
devoted to pediatric patients, care is delivered seamlessly
and efficiently, so children and their families can get back
home, where they belong. v
