( Opposite ) The dining room received a complete makeover , with solid walnut dining room chairs from the ’ 60s reupholstered in wool fabric — a nod to the husband ’ s Scottish heritage , Mazza says , but also durable and easy enough to clean to work with the family ’ s four children . The 1960s marble-topped rosewood credenza is from a store in the Hamptons ; the solid walnut table has a vintage silhouette , though it is new . Linen window treatments were custom-made and provide neutral accents to the blue floral Morris & Co . wallpaper . Mazza replaced the existing chandelier with a crystal one that reflects in the wife ’ s mirror .
( This page , clockwise from above ) An archway leading into the family room has been painted in high gloss white to bounce even more light into the sunny family room ; the oversized chair , which sits next to a woven rattan end table , has been refinished and reupholstered in a sky blue plaid , a nod to the husband ’ s heritage , Mazza says . In the foyer , the jasmine wallpaper is from Farrow & Ball . The stairs lead to the second floor , where decorative , dark-stained wood beams have been added to the underside of the home ’ s turret , and an antique brass LED light fixture shares the same finishes as the wall sconces . The mid-century bench fits perfectly under the windows so the home ’ s inhabitants can soak up the sun .
