Experience the inspiring true story behind the beloved song AMAZING GRACE,
when the Wayne Parks and Recreation Department sponsors a trip to see this
Broadway musical, Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 8 p.m. in the Nederlander Theatre
(208 West 41st St., New York). A captivating tale of romance, rebellion and
redemption, this radiant production follows the coming of age of John Newton,
the son of a slave-trader, as Britain sits atop an international empire of slavery.
Newton finds himself torn between following in the footsteps of his father or
embracing the more compassionate views of his childhood sweetheart. Tickets
are $112 per person (includes round-trip transportation from Wayne at 5:30 p.m.).

TEA TIME
The Chilton Medical Center Auxiliary is
presenting a QUEEN’S TEA benefit at The High
SocieTea House (20 Old Newark-Pompton
Turnpike, Wayne) on Thursdays, Oct. 1 and
Oct. 8. Proceeds from this event will benefit
The Breast Center at Chilton Medical Center.
There will be two seatings on each date: noon
and 6 p.m. The menu will include a choice of
tea, quiche with soup or salad, scones, lemon
curd and clotted cream, assorted savories,
delectable sweets and plated dessert. Tickets
are $40 for each two-hour seating and space
