Farm-to-table Fridays Featuring Grace Roots
Farm-to-table is all the rage these days , and fortunately , Waxhaw ’ s Grace Roots Farm answers the call and then some ! Having opened its [ stable ] doors to the public in spring 2016 , Grace Roots has been leading the charge in local meat and eggs for the organic-conscious and small business consumer .
Owners Kate and Logan McAteer were born and raised in the area . In fact , Kate brings new meaning to the term “ Waxhaw native .” Her family has owned the farm property since before The Civil War ! The property was a dairy farm prior to 1986 , at which point it shifted to raising beef cattle . It has since evolved to include the raising of pigs , chickens and lay hens for eggs . While their beef is processed off-site , they are about to begin processing their own chickens . The McAteers not only own and operate the farm , but they also live on site where their personal produce garden makes them practically self-sustaining !
All their meat and eggs can be bought right in their store on the farm , which is open on Fridays from 12-6pm and Saturdays from 8am-5pm .

Pre-ordered meals can be picked up at Grace Roots farm on Friday evenings from 4-6pm , and voila … gourmet dinner is served !
