Waxhaw is a friendly, vibrant, prosperous town where history and creativity build an
enduring, safe and healthy community for people of all ages to live, learn, work, play or
grow a business.
TOWN MANAGER’S MESSAGE
It was an eventful October for the Town of Waxhaw, and it’s only getting busier. We hosted
fall events that brought our town and many Charlotte residents together, and now we’re
gearing up for the holiday season. Be sure to mark your calendar for this season’s events
using the guide on pages 5-6.
Events are a fun way for the community to gather, but don’t forget there are several
opportunities to get involved in your community. There are two more Board of
Commissioners meetings in the calendar year, on November 12th and 25th at Waxhaw PD
Community Room, where you can make public comments and be an active participant
in your local government. The town is also seeking volunteers to serve on appointed
committees. If you would like to get more involved in Waxhaw, please read more on page 7
and apply by November 4th.
The Parks and Rec team hosted a very successful Autumn Treasures Festival in downtown
Waxhaw. There were incredible performers, bands, carriage rides, and much more that
were enjoyed by festival visitors. Plus, we can’t discount the Grill’n and Chill’n BBQ Cook
Off winners. You can find the list of winners and an event recap on page 4.
We hope you’ll take advantage of the robust schedule of holiday events here in Waxhaw.
They reflect the town’s growing diversity, and are a great way to experience our downtown
area in a festive light. In the meantime, we wish you a safe and happy Thanksgiving break
with your families.
