WA X H AW ’ S V I S ION Waxhaw is a friendly, vibrant, prosperous town where history and creativity build an enduring, safe and healthy community for people of all ages to live, learn, work, play or grow a business. TOWN MANAGER’S MESSAGE Happy New Year from the Town of Waxhaw! January is the time of year when everyone sets their resolutions and intentions for the new year, and it’s a time when they prepare for changes in the year to come. In 2020, our resolution as a town is continuing to improve transparency between the town and our residents. We have received many questions about our Board of Commissioners meetings. For additional information and a general guide to answer questions about the public information process, please visit page 7. We hope this guide encourages you to attend BOC meetings in 2020. We would like to welcome our new Board of Commissioners. At the Board of Commissioners meeting on December 10th, 2019, Waxhaw’s newly elected Commissioners and Mayor took their Oaths of Office. View pages 4-6 to learn more about our new members. Past meetings can be viewed on our YouTube channel, and we hope you will attend future BOC meetings when you are able. Please join us in celebrating Town Clerk Melody Shuler’s graduation from Appalachian State University. Visit page 3 to learn more about Melody and her impact in the Town of Waxhaw for the past five years. Erskine Smith Erskine Smith Interim Town Manager [email protected]
