As the Town of Waxhaw plans for smart growth over the next few years, our planning staff has
grown to bring on new talent and perspectives. Our newest planners, Max Hsiang and Mattison
Miller, joined our staff in the last few months and are already making lasting impacts on our
planning department.
If you happen to see Max and Mattison at Town Hall or around town, be sure to give them a
warm Waxhaw welcome. Read more about their backgrounds and work for the town in the bios
below.
Mattison Miller, Planner I
The Town of Waxhaw is pleased to introduce you to one of
our newest Planners, Mattison Miller. Prior to joining the
Waxhaw team, he worked as a City Management Intern
for Bessemer City, located in Gaston County.
Mattison received his Master’s Degree in Public
Administration with a concentration in Urban
Management and Emergency Management from UNC
Charlotte. The Town of Waxhaw will be keeping Mattison
very busy with zoning inquiries, research for new or on-
going town projects, staff meetings, and collaborating
with other planners.
Mattison would like the community to know that he
is very happy to be working for the Town of Waxhaw
and for the opportunity the Planner I role is going to
create. He feels that Waxhaw is a small town with great
potential and is glad he gets to be a part of it. Mattison
looks forward to becoming a part of the community and
learning the ins and outs of Waxhaw.
