MARCH 27TH BOC MEETING RECAP
Tuesday March 27, 2018 was a busy afternoon and early evening for the Waxhaw Board of Commission-
ers. The Board conducted both a work session and regular meeting where we were able to accomplish the
following for the Town of Waxhaw:
• Received an update and reviewed the initial design recommendations for our Downtown sidewalk
project, known as the “Tap Grant”.
• Received updates and directed staff to move forward with improvements to Kensington Drive.
• Received an update on a potential 5 year capital project plan for the Town of Waxhaw and the time-
line and options for Municipal financing options to complete these projects.
• In preparation for the upcoming budget season, the Board reviewed the use of fees that could be ear-
marked for specific infrastructure services that the Town is responsible for.
• Discussed and agreed on actions that will address and improve the operation of our volunteer boards.
• Reviewed and adopted a revision to the Town of Waxhaw’s noise ordinance. This ordinance modern-
izes the identification and enforcement of violations by establishing decibel limits on noise within
Waxhaw.
• Received, approved and directed staff to move forward with a much needed update to Waxhaw’s Mas-
ter Park Plan. This update will have the added benefit of enabling Waxhaw to compete for State and
Federal park related grant opportunities.
• Dedicated to the Town additional streets, sidewalks and street lights in the Millbridge neighborhood:
• Received public comments from 5 individuals on various topics.
• The Waxhaw Board of Commissioners also had the privilege of recognizing Marion Morton of Public
Services Department for her 15 year Service Award with the Town of Waxhaw. Congratulations Mari-
on!
