Jacksonville University is breaking new ground with bold new additions, renovations and partnerships that are reshaping the student experience and reaffirming the University’ s commitment to excellence, innovation and community.
The north end of campus is home to the new Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine( LECOM) at Jacksonville University, the region’ s first fouryear medical school. LECOM at Jacksonville University is preparing to welcome its inaugural class of more than 80 students in fall 2026. This milestone project will anchor
JU’ s health sciences corridor, fueling a powerful environment for learning, research and clinical practice, all while bringing a major economic boost to Northeast Florida.
In fall 2025, the University
celebrated the grand reopening of the Reid Medical Sciences Building, a reimagined hub for healthcare education. The revitalized facility features state-of-the-art classrooms, labs and simulation spaces designed to prepare future nurses and clinicians for the rapidly evolving world of patient care. Supported by Florida’ s GROW Nursing Program, the renovation reflects JU’ s deep commitment to creating opportunities for collaboration across disciplines.
Beyond academics, JU is also investing in the everyday experience of its students. At the start of the Fall 2025 semester, the Riverview
