MEET BOARD OF TRUSTEES CHAIR: JOHN MILLER
Following two years of outstanding leadership from Matt Kane’ 01, we extend our deepest gratitude to Matt and his wife, Alexis’ 02, for their vision, dedication and service. Their commitment to student success and academic excellence has left a lasting impact on the University, reflected in the newly named Matt & Alexis Kane Student Enrichment Center— the University’ s centralized hub for academic advising and student support. The Center ensures every student has the connection, guidance and resources they need to thrive throughout their JU experience.
John Miller joined the Board in May 2019. Since then, Miller has been a dedicated and engaged leader, serving as Vice Chairman and lending his expertise to advance the University’ s mission. He currently serves on the Future. Made. fundraising committee as a campaign tri-chair.
A seasoned C-suite executive, Miller is currently President of Fiori Golf and has previously served as President and CEO of Swisher International and held executive leadership positions at 22nd Century Group. Recognized for his ability to drive innovation and organizational excellence, Miller brings a unique perspective shaped by his deep understanding of customer, consumer, channel and employee experiences.
Miller and his wife, Marica Pendjer, are active members of the Jacksonville University community. Pendjer is a member of the Friends of Fine Arts and serves as President of the Board for Pink Ribbon Jax, which actively raises funds for free mammograms and imaging services in the fight against breast cancer.
Miller is a graduate of the Lee School of Business at UNLV and earned an MBA from Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. He is a member of the Rebel( UNLV) Golf Foundation and exemplifies the type of forward-thinking leadership that will guide Jacksonville University into its next chapter of growth and success.
