LEADERS IN INNOVATION AND LAW
Jacksonville University continues to distinguish itself as a hub for thought leadership and innovation, hosting conversations that challenge, inspire and shape the future. This fall, the University hosted events that brought influential voices to JU’ s main campus and College of Law in Downtown Jacksonville.
JU partnered with TEDxJacksonville and JAX TechFest to present AI Frontlines: Jacksonville’ s Playbook for Innovation and Impact. Held in Terry Concert Hall, the panel featured experts from NLP Logix, Bank of America, Chang Robotics( Matthew Chang‘ 17), the PGA TOUR and more. Moderated by Matt Berseth,
co-founder and CIO of NLP Logix, the discussion explored how artificial intelligence is transforming industries across the region. The event provided students and community members with an inside look at how AI is driving Jacksonville’ s next wave of growth.
Later in the semester, JU’ s College of Law hosted Marty Korman, longtime corporate partner and current board member at Wilson Sonsini, for a special event in downtown Jacksonville. Korman shared personal insights from his distinguished legal career, offering students a behindthe-scenes look at his work as a mergers and acquisitions attorney and Silicon Valley“ deal architect.” His visit sparked thoughtful discussion and meaningful connections with JU’ s future legal leaders.
The College of Law also welcomed Princeton University professor Robert“ Robby” P. George for a Global Luncheon and Dialogue hosted in partnership with the World Affairs Council of Jacksonville. Professor George joined Randall C. Berg Jr. Founding Dean, Nick Allard for a conversation on civic education and global leadership.
The Haskell Public Policy Institute brought Florida House Speaker-designate Sam Garrison to the downtown College of Law for an evening discussion with community leaders and university supporters. Garrison, who will lead the Florida House beginning in November 2026, addressed key policy priorities and legislative initiatives facing the state- reflecting the Institute’ s mission to connect students with leaders shaping Florida’ s future.
These events showcase JU’ s commitment to bringing thought leaders to campus, creating opportunities for learning, inspiration and collaboration that extend beyond the classroom.
