For Serinna Meister ' 21 , Jacksonville University has become a home away from home , and she ’ s made the most of her opportunities to spend time with — and contribute to — her JU family .
After earning her undergraduate degree in business administration and accounting in 2021 , and serving as Student Government Association President during her senior year , Meister earned the chance to study for her MBA — and was re-elected SGA President by her peers . “ My professors were always giving tips and advice , for professional and ‘ realworld ’ experiences . I am grateful I paid full attention when they did , because I have been able to use so much of it !” After interning for a local accounting firm for 16 months , Meister is setting her sights on achieving her CPA and completing her MBA with a concentration in accounting and finance in 2023 . After that , she plans to join a Jacksonvillebased CPA firm and work her way to becoming a director or partner , before eventually opening her own firm .
“ I encourage my fellow Dolphins to spend time building relationships both at networking events and in the classroom . Our professors and classmates are a wise and connected group and are a wonderful resource for students who are looking to advance themselves .”
