A few weeks studying with
Jacksonville University’s Center
for Global Teaching & Learning in
Sorrento, Italy, has given Breanna
Anderson a taste for traveling and
studying in Europe.
“I am hoping to get my master’s in
business administration in London,
England. Not everything is planned
out, but I know I want to travel and
learn more,” said Anderson, a political
science major with business and
communications minors.
And that’s just what Dr. Annmarie
Kent-Willette, Executive Director of
Global Teaching and Learning had in
mind when she established the Center
and secured a partnership with the
Sant’Anna Institute.
“For me, study abroad is an integral
part of education, necessary to
prepare students for life in an
increasingly global community,” Kent-
Willette said.
Travel and study abroad have been
a part of Kent-Willette’s world for as
long as she can remember. To this day,
she still has a childhood scrapbook
full of postcards from family and
friends travelling the world, including
study abroad students her extended
family hosted during their time in the
United States.
So, it’s no surprise that she incorporates
travel into her career as professor and
chair of communications.
