PRIMARY EVENTS
FOR GUBERNATORIAL
ELECTION
In August of 2018, the Jacksonville
University Public Policy Institute and
WJXT Channel 4 co-hosted a televised
Republican Debate and a Democratic
Town Hall Forum for the Florida
gubernatorial primary races in the
University's Terry Concert Hall.
The first event featured the Republican
Gubernatorial Debate between Florida
Congressman Ron DeSantis and Florida
Commissioner of Agriculture Adam
Putnam.
The Republican Primary Debate was
followed by a Democratic Town Hall
Forum with candidates Andrew Gillum,
Mayor of Tallahassee; Gwen Graham,
former Congresswoman for Florida’s 2nd
congressional district; Chris King, Winter
Park businessman; Philip Levine, former
Mayor of Miami Beach; and Jeff Greene,
real estate entrepreneur.
