NEW PRESIDENTIAL
FELLOWS BRING
COMMITMENT TO
LEADERSHIP AND
STUDENT EXPERIENCE
Chosen after a comprehensive search, the
2018 Presidential Fellows McKenzie Bolin
and Mitch Gallo bring intellect, passion,
and commitment defined by their unique
experiences as students. The duo has been
hard at work helping senior leaders push
new initiatives, collaborating with multiple
departments and colleges, and connecting
with students on projects including the 2018
Matriculation Ceremony and the "JU Night"
Jumbo Shrimp game.
“I'm excited to work with the leadership
at Jacksonville University on the future of
JU,” said Gallo, a Fort Myers, Florida, native
who majored in Aviation Management for
his undergraduate studies and has now
begun working on his Master of Business
Administration. “I have been involved in various
brainstorming meetings for visions of where
the University could go and possible additions.
I enjoy the senior leaders of the University
because they do not limit the boundaries of
thought and encourage abstract perspectives.”
In addition to cross-campus collaboration,
the fellows work closely with President Cost
and provide feedback on some of the biggest
initiatives for the University.
“President Cost is an incredible mentor,” said
Bolin, a Jacksonville native who earned her
bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology
and is now completing the prerequisites for
JU’s Doctor of Occupational Therapy program.
“It has been amazing to work directly with
him because he loves to mentor young
professionals and has already taught me
incredible lessons that will help in my career.”

DCOB HOSTS PANEL

Branding and differentiating in the consumer
