COMMUNITY GUIDE 2025

Watertown offers small-town charm

Welcome to Watertown! For generations people have been drawn to our community because of the natural beauty, vast natural resources, and vibrant local economy. We are known for a great school system, the Luce Line Trail, the Crow River, a farmers’ market featuring local vendors, parks with playgrounds, good roads, safe neighborhoods and caring people. These are a just few things that make Watertown special.
Add in a vibrant arts and entertainment community that promotes plays, concerts, performances, and other events at the Performing Arts Center, and there is always something happening. Or, if sports is more your thing, you can take in an amateur baseball game at Highland Park, home of the Watertown Red Devils of the Crow River Valley baseball league.
Our community prides itself in our small town charm and sense of community which is showcased every year during Rails to Trails; our annual celebration held July 26 and 27, with live music, a classic car show, a 5K fun run, fireworks, and the hunt for the Golden Spike.
The city has a fairly low crime and peaceful neighborhoods thanks to our diligent first responders, well-trained fire department and courageous police force and have built a close relationship with Watertown-Mayer Public Schools to provide dynamic community education programming that draws hundreds of participants each year.
Plus, the city partners closely with Carver County to offer services through the Watertown Public Library; which was remodeled in 2013 to include a technology lab. Our library is a gathering place year long, offering activities for all ages.
We enjoy this quality of life while being one of the most affordable communities in Carver County. But don’ t take my word for it, please come visit. Whether you’ re looking for a place to visit, live or build a business, know that you are welcome in Watertown!
