Parks located close to neighborhoods
Mayer residents have five parks to choose from in the city: Old Schoolhouse Park, West Ridge Park, Bluejay Park, Meadow Park and Discovery Park, which all offer plenty of opportunities for a fun outing, from playground equipment to ballparks and a skate park. Many are located in close proximity to the city’ s trail system.
OLD SCHOOLHOUSE PARK
This community park is the largest existing park in Mayer consisting of approximately 16 acres. The park provides for a variety of active recreational amenities.
The park complex currently includes four ballfields and a community gymnasium. The park is also the site of a municipal well, a small public works facility and off-street parking. Old Schoolhouse Park facilities are used for community recreation and league ball.
The community gymnasium is available for volleyball, basketball and free play. In addition, there are four ballfields within the park.
WEST RIDGE PARK
This neighborhood park consists of approximately eight acres. The park is primarily comprised of open space and ADA accessible and inclusive playground equipment.
Accessory facilities include a parking lot, paved trail, picnic tables and a portable restroom facility. This park is an accessible park. This park also features a Little Free Library.
BLUEJAY PARK
This neighborhood park consists of approximately one and a third acres. This park has a half court sport court. Offstreet parking facilities are not provided at this park, but an alley is used for parking.
MEADOW PARK
Meadow Park is located to the south of town in the Hidden Creek Development. It is to the west of Highway 25. This park features a skate park, soccer nets, four square pad, and a toddler and children’ s playground. This park is connected to the Hidden Creek Development by trails.
DISCOVERY PARK
Discovery Park is located in the Fieldstone Development off of Fieldstone Parkway. This park has playground equipment and connects to the development by a Discovery Trail.
