Information for Mayer residents

WATER / SEWER
Water and sewer customers are billed by the city on a monthly basis.
WATER CONSERVATION POLICY
The city of Mayer has a water conservation policy. Residents with odd house numbers shall water lawns when necessary only on odd number calendar days, and those with even number addresses water only on even number days.
GARBAGE / RECYCLING
Mayer contracts with Waste Management Services. Garbage pickup is every Friday and recycling is every other Friday. Have carts at the curb by 7 a. m.
BRUSH / COMPOST SITE
The city provides a location for city residents to dispose of brush and compost. Materials may be brought to east of the Mayer Wastewater Treatment Facility on County Road 30 on Saturdays from 8 a. m. to noon and Wednesdays from 5:30 to
8:30 p. m.( April – November). The site is open year-round on Saturdays.
BUILDING PERMITS
The city has adopted the State Building code. Under this code, building permits are required for any improvements, such as new construction, remodeling, residing, re-roofing, window replacement, furnace replacement, decks, basement refinishing, fireplace or wood stove installation, fences and utility sheds. DOG LICENSES
Licenses are required for all dogs over six months of age, limit of two dogs per household. The fee is $ 10 annually($ 7.50 if spayed / neutered). A lifetime license is available for $ 10 for microchipped dogs. Dogs need to be leashed or under the control of a responsible person. Dogs running at large will be picked up.
