COMMUNITY GUIDE 2024
The Watertown-Mayer Performing Arts Center offers both students and the community a state of the art venue for theatrical and musical performances , along with many other events .
While being used for school events such as presentations , assemblies , awards ceremonies and coronations , it is also home to the middle school and high school ’ s band and choir programs , as well as staging an annual high school fall musical and spring play .
The venue , built in 2007 as part of an expansion and remodel of the high school , also hosts many events for community organizations such as River City Theater Company . Community Education offers young performers a musical production in the summer through its Summer Youth Theater program . The Watertown Area Fine Arts Council also uses the venue to bring quality entertainment such as Nachito Herrera and the vocal group The Steeles in to perform for the community . In addition , Lorie Line , Minnesota Music Hall of Fame inductee , performs a Christmas concert regularly at the PAC .

Community offers haven for fine arts
The theater is also available for rent by private organizations . Many dance companies host their annual recitals in the PAC . The state of the art sound and lighting and in-house technical staff offer outside groups a venue to produce spectacular shows at a reasonable rate .
In its inaugural year , the PAC hosted the Minnesota Orchestra which found the theater to be one of the best acoustically they had ever played in .

RIVER CITY THEATRE COMPANY
The mission of River City Theatre Company is to offer people of all ages from Watertown and surrounding communities the chance to experience and produce quality theatrical productions .
The company typically produces two shows per year — one in the spring , and one in the fall .
