Cleaning up your act while it promotes a culture of good hygiene. These products are intended to help save water in a sustainable and practical manner. Loo Cap The Loo Cap is a hand-wash basin cap that can be installed above an existing toilet cistern. The technology consists of a fitted hand-wash tap and the main water supply connection, equipped with a downward flushing handle. This system has two advantages: it encourages good hygiene as well as promoting greywater usage. Once a person is done using the toilet, they can immediately get up to wash their hands using the Loo Cap. After washing their hands, they pull the handle on the cistern down to flush the toilet, and the greywater that has been stored is released into the toilet bowl. Each time a person uses the Loo Cap above the cistern to wash their hands, the water moves down from the basin to the toilet cistern to be stored. This water is traditionally allowed to drain away into the municipal water system. The cycle continues and can be used by all genders. u It is a well-known fact that South Africa is a water-scarce nation, but owing to climate change, the whole world is becoming increasingly more watchful around water usage. Africa has recently been affected by the El NiƱo drought, one of the worst droughts experienced in decades. Currently, in the Western Cape, there is an on-going drought that has resulted in the government declaring level 5 water restrictions. However, despite this dire situation, the general behaviour of South Africans remains that of wastefulness. To exacerbate the situation, the same water that is used for drinking and cooking is used for bathing and flushing toilets. In the midst of all our water challenges, TnM Innovations has created two products that will have an impact on how people see and use water. The system allows for greywater to be stored and used in sanitation The Loo-cap ensures maximised use of greywater to flush the toilet.
