Bauer motors used in the water-treatment industry are IP 65-rated.
BI also has a dedicated water-industry
product specialist on hand to provide
technical advice, and to help customers
resolve specific problems or issues, as
well as optimise existing facilities with
the latest equipment.
“We are able to visit a plant to
assess its specific requirements, which
forms the basis of a complete solution.
This even extends to design and
troubleshooting,” Ras adds. Product-
specific training is also provided for
plant engineers, workshop foremen,
or general staff, which goes a long
way in assisting with preventative
maintenance.
Cutting-edge
wastewater-treatment
projects
Cutting-edge projects to treat final
effluent to become potable water,
being undertaken by the Wamechsi
Group, are using a range of mechanical
equipment for the wastewater
treatment industry from leading
manufacturer SEW-EURODRIVE.
The group’s latest projects to feature
the German company’s products are
Virginia Phase Two (six 75kW industrial
gear units specifically for aerators),
an additional 22 geared motors for
Theronia, and 15 geared motors for
mixers at Boschkoppies. Phase One of
the Virginia project has already been
completed, while Phase Two is being
commissioned. “The main reason that
we have been so successful in this
industry to date is largely due to our
innovation and the reliable product
range
from
SEW-EURODRIVE,”
Wamechsi group CEO Jurie Niemand
comments.
The original equipment manufacturer
(OEM) produces a range of mechanical
equipment for the various stages of the
36
sizes used are three-, four-, and six-
inch chain.
Other BI products ideal for the water-
treatment industry are the smaller TR
inline gearboxes, which are ideal to
drive reticulation pumps, clarifiers, and
raw water pumps. The Bauer range
even includes a two-stage gearbox for
larger aerators.
“What gives BI the leading edge
in the water-treatment industry is not
only the premium product range we
supply, but the fact that we offer free
plant inspections and maintenance
checks to ensure that the products
are installed and applied correctly for
maximum efficiency,” Ras reveals.
Another major advantage for BI is
that it carries stock of all the above-
mentioned products at its head
office in Johannesburg, as well as
throughout its countrywide branch
network. “BI offers the wastewater
treatment segment cost-effective
solutions from a one-stop supplier.
All our premium-brand products are
also backed-up with performance
guarantees,” Ras notes.
SEW-EURODRIVE’s extensive experience and track record in the wastewater-treatment
industry means it is able to offer flexible and highly reliable total solutions.
