UV disinfection technology for public area washroom

A restroom’ s enclosed environment, small space, humidity, and the use of excessive chemical substances create favourable breeding conditions for pathogenic bacteria, fungi, and other pests, and lead to the production of indoor allergens, Narendra Damani, director at Fraser Techno Circuits in India, points out.
“ Studies on bathroom air health, from various research institutions, showed that the toilet contains significant bacteria, including salmonella( food contamination), streptococcus( urinary tract infection), Escherichia coli( urinary tract infections, sepsis, and diarrhoea), hepatitis viruses, colds and flu, rhinovirus and the like,” he explains.
In addition, human waste also contains a variety of bacteria and viruses, parasites, and other pathogens, often with staphylococcus aureus, while the process of bodily elimination odour contains a higher concentration of ammonia, hydrogen sulphide, and other harmful gases.“ Scenting can only mask the odour, not treat the source of problem and can be a very expensive option. Chemicals can only clean temporarily and can be hazardous,” Damani adds.
In this environment, UV lampbased solutions are the most advanced restroom / washroom air treatment and odour control system, he assures and explains:“ The photoplasma generated by the units destroys odours, bacteria, viruses, mould, fumes, and other impurities in the air and on surfaces. This solution excels in even the most challenging environments, such as high traffic areas, where other odour and hygiene control methods fail. These solutions are easy to install and require minimal annual maintenance whilst remaining environment friendly.” u
