We launched the first edition of the World ArchiTecture Award in 2019 to carry the colours of architecture high at an international level . Even though the second edition had to be postponed due to Covid , the success of the first edition convinced us to pursue this beautiful story in 2022 .
This year , we had the great pleasure to count as many as 94 international projects in the competition , evaluated by a jury exclusively composed of architects , and chaired by SOM ( Skidmore , Owings & Merrill ) agency .
The constrained environment , the budgetary framework , as well as the project relevance , constitute formidable creativity triggers for architects and so many selection criteria for our Jury , who ended up by short listing 17 projects from several categories . Sustainability , because of climate change , was clearly considered as a key point in the selection process , and not only in this new category .
Always more curious and attentive , our brands TECHNAL and SAPA take advantage of WATA to push further the exploration , the innovation and the performance . It is a true trend laboratory and a way to share , learn and make the right choices to reinvent ourselves .
It is therefore natural to dedicate this event to all our partners , and we ’ d like to thank architects and customers for their support . We ’ d also like to extend our gratitude to the Jury . Thank you for the exchanges , the hard work and the sound advice !
