Vermonster 4x4 - Snow Bog II
I attended the Snow Bog II a week ago, put on by Randy Oakley of Vermonster 4x4, and he did not disappoint!
Vermonster 4x4 is a radical departure from what you think you know
about off-road events. This was Randy’s second year for the Snow Bog,
and with the perfect winter weather
here in the northeast, he had no
problem with the abundance of
snow. Coupled with great fast paced
competitions in the Rock Krawl, Tire
Pull, 4x4 Obstacle Course, Head to
Head Racing, Megatruck Freestyle
and $1000 Down-n-Dirty Snowmobile Racing.
Rock Krawl contestants were able
to compete on the freshly mounded
snow and laid out obstacles, to challenge their skills with slippery snow
covered rocks, logs, and trenches
while remaining in the boundaries
of the course.
A fan favorite Matt Newell with
his NO Mercy, lifted, custom frame,
Grand Cherokee took first 2nd place
in the Obstacle Course, 1st place
in the Tire Pull, Side x Side Drags,
and Rocked the “Freestyle” taking
1st place, which qualified him for
the King Nationals again this year.
Newell also placed 2nd in the Snowmobile Obstacle Course. Jeremy Longto and his Mechanical Bull took 1st Place in
the Obstacle Course.
