Known for being the Toughest Race, this year did not disappoint. Over 40,000 Spectators were sprawled over the
198 miles, that made up the Course. Witnesses to Drivers from 31 States and 8 Countries. To wear the Crown, the
Drivers tackled trails with names of Backdoor, Wrecking Ball, Clawhammer, Devil’s Slide, Jackhammer, and Chocolate Thunder, with all of them waiting to jump up take a bite out of the Rigs on the Course.
A tad over 8 hours after starting the race, Loren Healy climbed out of his car exclaiming “that was one of the
worst races he ever ran”. As he finished saying this, someone from the crowd yelled out that he was the first one in,
he quickly added “until I won the King of the Hammers, again”.
