They do ask for donations to help keep the property open 24 / 7 / 365. exclaimed “College Boy” There are a lot of fun things about what we do as outdoor motorsports enthusiasts. The excitement when you first buy that new rig of choice gets our blood churning. Then comes the laundry wish list of modifications you want to do to the new to you big boy toy! When the list is complete and we add everything up it becomes apparent that it is way more than is affordable at the moment. It’s good to have goals though and little by little chipping away at the list. After each new round of new parts is like being a kid on Christmas eve until you can see how it does on the trails! All of the hard work pays off the moment the new monster hits dirt! Like a brilliant woman once told me, “The best part about it is the driving part!” That means we need a place that is legal to be able to go offroading. With more and more trails being close every year due to erosion issues, and abuse on federal land it is getting harder and hard to find a place to wheel. A group of like minded people recognized this in all of their adventures around North America and even in Moab, Ut, the mecca of the offroad world. They became tired of being told trails were closing or being restricted, so they banded together and purchased 320 acres 13 miles south of Moab on route 191. In April of 2004 Area BFE became a reality and opened its gates for the first time with a new mindset on land use. Area BFE is a privately owned offroad park unlike anything that has been seen so far. They are open to the public 365 days a year for FREE! There is a donation box at the gate and if you feel the urge to support the cause you can drop in a dollar amount of your choice into the donation statue. Donations are to help with the general expenses of up keep of the property as well as new facilities. Area BFE has primitive camping and picnic tables, portable restrooms, and a guaranteed fun time! 6 April 2014
