King of the Hammers
Brendon Thompson and Jake Yeoman have been friends for over 15 years, many of those years spent trail
riding with their fellow 4x4 Club members. Jake was heading towards the offroad racing scene bought a
Race Ready Car, spoke with Brendon and Team outcast was was born. At that time Brendon became Jake’s
Co-Driver. They campaigned the 1977 car in the Ultra 4 series with both qualifying for 2014 King of the Hammers. After the 2013 King of the Hammers, Brendon began the build of the second Team car 1976.
As you will see with the carnage that the Team suffered this year, why the King of the Hammers is the
Toughest Offroad Race of all times and I often dub it the “Superbowl of Offroad Racing”. Jake was on the 3rd
lap running a good race, hanging with the Top 10 until the Course jumped up and said wait a minute. Brendon’s Race took a different road as he had mechanical problems after running a flawless qualifying lap. This
was the first race for this freshly built car.
