After getting everyone up and
through the pickle we came to
the afternoon lunch spot. Rebel Offroad provided the entire
group with Subway hoagies and
chips for lunch. There was even
one of the Utah locals that had
some homemade Root Beer brewing in the drink cooler with dry
ice, a perfect way to wash down
a hefty sandwich. As everyone
munched, there was a lot of excitement in everyone’s’ voices as
conversations went on about the
killer section of desert trail that
we had just conquered. Questions of anticipation about what
the trail ahead still had to offer.
With day light burning, lunch
was packed up and we continued
on to the next leg of the journey.
Mashed Potatoes proved to be
a great way to spend the afternoon, small rock humps for the
little guys, big awkward ledges
for the big guys, and medium
obstacles for everyone in between. About half way though we
hit the hot tubs, and at first there
was the couple of narrower rigs
that dropped down in and with
a little perseverance was able to
woo the crowd as they used some
wheel spin to inch their way back
out the other side. When I turned
around I nearly laughed when I
saw a 4 door JK lining up to drop
down in the tub. All of the JKs so
far that day had really impressed
me with their climbing abilities,
but trying to squeeze one of
those limousine sized 4 door JK
